ಬುರ್ಖಾ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ತೊಡುಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಅದೊಂದು ಗುಲಾಮಗಿರಿಯ ಸಂಕೇತ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದು ಫ್ರೆಂಚ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ನಿಕೊಲಸ್ ಸರ್ಕೊಜಿ ಹೊಸ ವಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಂದಿ ಹಾಡಿದರು.
ಈ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗದೆ ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಹಾಡುಗಾರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು (ಮಾಡೆಲ್ ಸಹ ಹೌದು) ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ವಿಶ್ವವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸುತ್ತಾಡಿದ. ಅನೈತಿಕ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಈ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನಿಗೆ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರಾರೂ ಹೀಗಳೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವರ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯೇ ಸ್ವೇಚ್ಚಾಚಾರದ್ದು, ನಮಗೇಕೆ ಅದರ ಅದರ ಉಸಾಬರಿ ಎಂದು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದರು.
ಇಂಥದ್ದೇ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ನಾಯಕ ಇಟಲಿಗೆ. ಸಿಲ್ವಿಯೋ ಬೆರ್ಲಸ್ಕೊನಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಲೋಲುಪತೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗರ್ಭ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಬೇರೆ. ಹೆಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬರವೇ? ೭೨ ರ ಈತನಿಗೆ ೧೯ರ ಪೋರಿ ಸಂಗಾತಿ. ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಹಗರಣ. ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಕರೆವೆಣ್ಣನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಂಗಲೆಗೆ ಕರೆಸಿ ” wait for me in the big bed ” ಎಂದು ಸಂದೇಶ ಕಳಿಸಿದ. ಇವಾವುದೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡದಲ್ಲ. ಓರ್ವ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ತನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಉಡುಗೆ ತೊಟ್ಟರೆ, ಮಾನವಾಗಿರಲು ಇಚ್ಚಿಸಿದರೆ ಬಂತು ತಕರಾರು. ಹೆಣ್ಣಿನ ಶೋಷಣೆ ಅಂತ ಪುಕಾರು.
ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರು ಇತರರ ವಸ್ತ್ರ ಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಟೀಕಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬಿಕಿನಿ ಆದರೂ ಹಾಕಲಿ, ನಗ್ನಾರಾಗಿಯಾದರೂ ಹೋಗಲಿ, ಅದು ನಮಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಆಧುನಿಕತೆಯ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಸ್ಪರ್ದೆಯ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಗ್ನತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ಲಾಮಿನ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಬಾಹ್ಯ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಂತರಂಗದ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಗೌರವ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಧರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಲೋಲುಪ ನಾಯಕರುಗಳ ಶಿಫಾರಸು ಬೇಡ, ಅದರ ಅಗತ್ಯವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

As during a large public meeting under the aegis of the Jamaiyete Hind… here in Banalore… I was quite surprised to find myself in a ‘zanana enclosure’ which had its own closed circuit tv and was in the view of the dias etc… Women therein were all highly educatd and professional….
The Subject was an honest ethical’aatmaavalokana’ of the muslims themselves as also.. General views on Muslims of the times by Sri Sri Ravishankar and a Political Science scholar…
Naturally – I went about asking the girls and women as to –WHY this ‘seggregation and even the wearing of the burkha
in such apublic and academic meet??
We like it this way … If we sit among men … they tend to gaze at us and not concentrate on the dias talk etc and we also feel unesy…. !!
